How to set State is Required option in Magento 2

By default, the State field is required on Magento 2 address form. Customers are required to select this field to finish checkout or else while creating a new account. The state or province is the information used for the shipping address, billing information, or calculates tax rates, and all that. But, there are some countries where the state is optional. In this case, the field can be totally ignored from the address or added as a random field.

You can set the State Required options field for your site from the admin panel with the following steps:

Steps for the set State Required for:

• Step 1: Login with your Admin panel
• Step 2: Go on the sidebar and click on the Stores option
• Step 3: Then go on the Settings > Configuration
• Step 4: Then expand the General tab and then click on the General option
• Step 5: Then select the State Options
• Step 6: Then go on the State is Required for field
1. Then select the country from the country list which state is required.
• Step 7: If you are done with these configuration then click on the Save Config button.
